President Joe Biden's recent debate performance has left voters questioning whether he is the right choice for another term in the White House. Some have criticized his low-energy approach during the debate.
Biden and former President Donald Trump went head-to-head in the first official debate of the 2024 election cycle on Thursday, leaving everyone in suspense.
The President's health has been a widely discussed subject during his time in office, with voters questioning whether he can effectively serve another term at the age of 81.
Trump has frequently emphasized the notion that Biden may be advanced in age, despite the fact that he is only a few years younger at 78.
Now, even some commentators who typically avoid speaking negatively about the President's health could not resist expressing their concerns after the debate.
CNN host Van Jones became visibly moved when discussing Biden's appearance and demeanor on Thursday, raising the question to a post-event panel about whether they believed Biden was suitable for the job considering his health.
Another seasoned political expert from CNN expressed that numerous Democrats shared a similar sentiment.
During a post-debate discussion on CNN, David Axelrod, a former adviser to former President Barack Obama, expressed surprise at the way he came out at the beginning of the debate and how his voice sounded.
"He appeared slightly confused. As the debate progressed, he certainly displayed more strength. However, it seemed that by then, a sense of panic had already taken hold among members of Biden's political party," he remarked.
“And there may be some discussions happening, although it is uncertain if they will result in any action, regarding his potential continuation," he remarked.
Several voters took to social media to express their disappointment with the President's performance and energy levels during the debate.
Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) recently posted a video showing a moment from the debate where Biden appeared to pause and gaze into the distance while attempting to complete a sentence.
"This is the pivotal moment in the debate that holds utmost significance." Biden struggles to complete his thoughts. He expressed frustration at the situation, stating that it was something he had hoped to prevent.
A large number of individuals showed their appreciation for the post, while many others took the time to leave comments.
In September 2020, when Biden and Trump went head-to-head, an astonishing 73 million viewers tuned in to witness a debate that will forever be remembered for its chaotic nature. The hosts of this year's debate have made a firm commitment to ensure that such a spectacle will not be repeated.
In order to prevent a repeat of the previous confrontation, CNN made the decision to silence the microphones of the candidates when it was not their turn to speak and eliminate the presence of a studio audience.
Participants were prohibited from bringing any props or notes onto the stage and were not allowed to communicate with their staff during the two scheduled breaks.
The disparities may have played a role in certain viewers forming unfavorable opinions about the event, with some even going so far as to label it as "boring" and possibly the "worst debate" they had ever witnessed.
Some viewers were left questioning the President's performance, speculating if his voice had weakened and wondering if Joe Biden was speaking in a whisper.
